East Tennessee Rowing Organization (ETRO) will host two rowing summer camps for boys and girls age 12 and older starting June 7.
The four-day, beginner camps are for any individual who has an interest in rowing. Experience is not required. The camps are from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Ft. Loudoun Lake in Louisville at the Smoky Mountain Rowing Center (SMRC) (3498 Rankin Ferry Loop). The cost is $100 and includes a T-shirt and water bottle.
The camps are set for:
• Beginner Session: June 7 -11
• Beginner Session: July 26 - 30
Experienced coaches and rowers from SMRC will lead the camp, which includes a history of rowing and coaching on basic rowing terminology, physiology and technique. Participants will receive on-the-water instruction and how to practice their rowing technique using an ergometer.
ETRO is a community rowing club focused on providing the best rowing experience in the scenic foothills of East Tennessee.
As a member of US Rowing, ETRO offers recreational and competitive rowing programs for adults and youth. The club is dedicated to helping its members get exactly what they want out of rowing - whether it be for exercise, fun, competition or meeting lifelong friends and teammates.
